“Generatio mala et adultera signum quaerit.”

 

–Matt. 16:4.

 

 

Lad, you know you have wished for it, too:

The clear sign, the bright, heavenly cue,

     Things beyond any doubt

     Written happily out!

But that’s not what real deities do.
