Dreamer

He longs to be a martyr for his cause–
and who are we to keep him from his dream?
Religion on his little neurons gnaws:
he longs to be a martyr for his cause.
Death popped a breath mint: briefly now its jaws
do not emit an odor too extreme.
He longs to be a martyr for his cause–
and who are we to keep him from his dream?
