Waking World

 

The world is waking up.  “Go back to bed!”

I bellow – but it’s paying no attention

And manifesting neither scorn nor dread.

The world is waking up?  Go back to bed,

Obnoxious world!  Our suffering is fed

By consciousness:  that’s more than mere convention.
