Ascendancy of O’Brien

The Ascendancy of O’Brien
Dennis is back – and who knows where he’s been?
To our staid blogosphere he now returns
From regions that are far beyond our ken—
Like James Bond as portrayed by, say, George Burns.
In world affairs he cannily discerns
The essences that we have overlooked.
Many a public criminal now learns
That he has been detained, arrested, booked.
It’s the expression, though, that has us hooked
On Dennis’s creations, rich with rhyme.
What an outstanding dish that chef has cooked—
In equal parts substantial and sublime!
Bright with anticipation now we glow.
Dennis is back – and who knows where he’ll go?

Honoured as usual Tom. Don’t know how George Burns would have felt though……
I always pictured you as a sort of James Bond figure — though Irish instead of Scottish.
Yes, I do dig his writ.
