Propositional Servitude

Propositional Servitude

The more we struggle for our liberty,
The more the weight of law comes crashing down:
The more we’re bound by sheer necessity.

The vast blue sky with foolish hope we see.
The sun is not a hero but a clown.
The more we struggle for our liberty,

The more we’re taught that what must be must be.
The subject’s tough, and no one has it down.
The more we’re bound by sheer necessity,

The more the longing fills us to live free
Of every damn oppressive abstract noun.
The more we struggle for our liberty,

However, then the more they disagree,
The helpless scepter and the pointless crown:
The more we’re bound by sheer necessity

And forced without surcease to bend the knee
To propositions in the tyrant’s town.
The more we struggle for our liberty,
The more we’re bound by sheer necessity.

Cosmic Resistance

Cosmic Resistance

Is necessity picking a fight?
Do you choose to fight back – from sheer spite?
From your viewpoint, so small,
Do you challenge the All?
Yeah. I’m sure that’ll turn out just right.

Isn’t that lovely news for you, my boy?

What you don’t have is hardly necessary!

There’s a lot more than insight to enjoy.

Isn’t that lovely news for you, my boy?

If the vocabulary we employ

Hurts your head, why, then, let your skull be wary!

Isn’t that lovely news for you, my boy?

What you don’t have is hardly necessary!
